As Bill & I are particularly partial to a home-baked scone, this 4.7 mile amble around Rabbit, Cow & Horse Dale near Huggate, finishing at Rachel's Walnut Cottage Tea Room for a cream tea, is right up our street. Saturday 7th September
Start your weekend with a self-guided look around some of the Sykes Churches on the trail, or perhaps visit Sledmere House. We will provide some information to give you lots of choices or you can just put your feet up!
3pm - 6.30pm
5.9 mile walk from Fridaythorpe to Thixendale. Hopefully the sun will be out and we will enjoy a late afternoon stroll taking in 'Waves and Time' in Thixen Dale plus some lovely views and an amble through Thixendale Village and back in time for tea.
6.30pm - 7.45pm
Pie and pie supper at Seaways in Fridaythorpe plus a beer or too if you want!
7.45pm - 9pm
Local archaeologist Alison Spencer will provide a talk about the geology and archaeology of the High Wolds and her latest exciting projects.
Sunday 8th September
10am - 1pm
5.28 mile walk around Cottam and Cowlam medieval deserted villages. This is a great walk that delivers stunning valleys and lots of history to discover
