  Be More Monty Dog Training was founded after a culmination of a lifelong love, personal growth and the work of one special dog - Monty. Monty landed in Imogen's life as she was navigating teenage mental health and anxiety. Dogs and training became more than a hobby, it was a safe space. In this time, she was gently reminded to “be more like Monty” - calm, joyful, and ready to find the smallest amount of fun! Over time, “Be More Monty” became a family mantra… and eventually, something so much bigger.

 Alyson at Pawsitivity - Canine Massage & Rehabilitation Therapy specialises in providing professional and tailored massage and rehabilitation therapy for your dog to enhance their quality of life. Bill was lucky enough to be one of Alyson's case studies whilst she was studying for her Canine Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy Qualification with the EMA (Equine Massage Academy Ltd) in which she was awarded a prestigious distinction. As a qualified canine massage and rehabilitation therapist, Alyson works in accordance with the Veterinary Code of Conduct 1966/2012 – ‘to ensure the health and welfare of animals committed to my care’. The dog-friendly and award winning Laurel Vines Vineyard are a family run vineyard and winery based in the small hamlet of Aike between Driffield and Beverley, where there are plenty of dog walking opportunities for you to try before visiting. With lots of special events to book, including picnics every Thursday from May to the start of September, plus Friday themed nights and Saturday wine bars you can certainly make a day of it out in this lovely part of the Wolds.  Plus we are supplying the Vineyard with Bill's Biscuits so your dog can also enjoy a special picnic of their own when you visit.  Sykes Lodge is a spectacular conversion of a range of Edwardian farm buildings with an aristocratic heritage. The six bedroomed, four bath roomed house is aimed particularly at multi-generational family groups to have a fabulous gathering for a special occasions or just because.....  Guests can enjoy sociable evenings in the open-plan living room and vaulted kitchen, sitting room with a log burner, or the library.  Sykes Lodge is also incredibly dog friendly; dogs stay for free and can play safely in the large fenced paddock as well as go on lots of our walks in this lovely part of Yorkshire.  Meg Ashby promotes positive reinforcement behavioural modification, using science-backed training methods. With her aim to keep dogs out of rescue, and in happy and healthy homes. 

Meg's enthusiasm for learning all she can about animal behaviour shines through in her business, inspired by her dog Fig, who, when rescued by Meg, presented complex-anxiety related behavioural issues but has now transformed, with Meg's help, into a happy, healthy dog. 

Meg offers a range of services within three levels of training and rehabilitation, which start with an initial assessment with your dog. These include 1:1's to train on manners, recall, engagement on walks.  These seven 5* gold luxury, eco cottages are located minutes from Beverley but nestled within the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.  Each dog-friendly holiday cottage has been converted from period farm buildings, and sleep from 4 to 9 people, while two barn conversions link to sleep 12 in 6 bedrooms. All have toasty eco-friendly central heating and a private fully enclosed garden, which is great for your dogs that accompany you. The farmstead is set in 19 acres of grass & woodland, a wildlife haven with lovely views across the fields.  Up to two small or medium-sized dogs are welcome (up to the size of a Labrador) in all of the cottages except High Barn where the maximum is 3. There is a small additional fee to cover the cost of extra cleaning at the end of your stay.

The Engine Room Cottage is a beautifully converted fire station building in the historic village of Sledmere. Bill loved his visit and you will too, as it sleeps 6 people, and one well-behaved dog (not sure if Bill qualifies!) and is on the doorstep of a great many of our lovely walks in the Wolds. You can even just nip over the road to visit Sledmere House to have a walk around their grounds and finish with tea and cake on the cafe terrace. Seaways of Fridaythorpe is a fantastic location, whether you want to pop in for some refreshments after one of our walks in the Wolds, or stay longer in one of their fabulous glamping pods or cottage. This delightful dog-friendly Grade II listed character cottage is situated in the stunning Great Wold Valley, by the Gypsey Race stream in the pretty village of West Lutton. It sleeps five people and has three bedrooms: a king-size, a double and a single, plus a bathroom with whirlpool bath. Ideal for dogs on their holidays, it has an enclosed rear garden and the footpath to Kirby Grindalythe and Sledmere is just across the road.
