Start / End: Menethorpe Village
Distance: 1.8 miles
Time: 45 minutes
Map: OS 300
This is a pleasant and very easy there and back 1.8 mile route, that did not quite make it to a round. It's a flat amble and pretty accessible if you just want a quick dog-walk.
1. Park in Menethorpe off the road near to the bridge. Menethorpe is a small hamlet so you could drive through it if you are not concentrating. Walk up the road a short way, over the other side of Menethorpe Beck, and you will spot a gate on your right, which you go through.
2. Walk ahead along the grassy path with the beck on your right. You'll go through a swing gate and you just keep on straight ahead.
3. You will pass close by a pylon and through another open gateway and keep heading straight ahead across an open grass field. All of this is great for your dog to have a crazy off lead run about.
4. Go through another metal swing gate and then, when we were there, along the side of a more boggy area with longer grass to your left where Bill had a happy paddle.
5. The path emerges on the road at a very hidden public bridleway sign. At this point I would just turn around and head back (rather then doing what we did and walk down the road to what is supposed to be the bridleway back, but which is blocked at the farm as you approach Menethorpe again.
This is a short easy walk, which does not really need a route description, if you are in the area, and which I hope you enjoy as a Subscriber to our Facebook page!
